Sidework
Private internal platform
Naming, logo, brand, and build for a restaurant group's private employee hub — schedule, training, onboarding, SOPs, announcements, policies, and menu knowledge inside a playful retro desktop that also works on a phone.
What they were looking for
A Chicago restaurant group whose team information lived in group chats, printouts, and binders. New hires had nowhere single to learn the job, and managers repeated the same answers every shift. They wanted it to feel fun to open — a Windows XP style desktop, not another boring work portal.
What we built
We created the Sidework name, logo, and brand, then built it as its own internal product: a retro desktop home screen with icons, windows, and a taskbar that collapses into a clean mobile layout — plus private sign-in for approved staff only, training and SOP libraries, announcements, and forms, kept separate from the customer-facing restaurant site.
Goals
- Give staff one place for every work answer
- Make onboarding and training repeatable
- Make a work tool people actually enjoy opening
- Cut the questions managers answer twice a day
- Branding, naming, and logo design
- Retro desktop interface, mobile optimized
- Private employee access
- Training, SOPs, announcements, and forms
Not publicly viewable at the client's request — staff-only access.
